Two-factor authentication (2FA) adds an extra layer of security to your Dwolla account by requiring access to your mobile device when logging in. 2FA prevents others from logging into your account with a password alone.

Setting up two-factor authentication

In order to enable two-factor authentication, go to your Security Settings within your Dwolla account, click enable, enter your password and click submit. Once you've enabled this security feature, you'll need to go through the following steps to activate two-factor authentication.

Step 1: Download an authentication app for your mobile device

Download and open an authentication app on your phone or tablet. Since Dwolla supports Time-based One-Time Password (TOTP) method for two-factor authentication, we recommend using one of the following apps:

Step 2: Scan the barcode or enter the key code in your authenticator app

Open your authenticator app. Click key code in your Dwolla account and manually enter the code in your app or scan the provided QR code with your mobile device's camera.

Step 3: Enter the six-digit code generated by your app

Your authenticator app will provide a six-digit code. Enter that code in the space provided on your Dwolla account.
